Unfortunately, blogging outside is going to be a problem but nevertheless a great quote from new defining artist. While pissing off authorities all over the world, Banksy re-established an unsustainable art form. To many he actually reinforced a generation.
Wether it's a blessing or a curse this generation is public. Everyone and everything can be recorded in all kinds of ways. In 2009 the documentary "We Live in Public" captured the effect the web has on our society. An almost terrifying happening taking place as we speak. Yet some know how to use this for the better.
In Exit Through the Giftshop, Banksy mentions the need for documentation of street-art. The documentary does not only put focus on the whole "Hype" concept but also how it is part of our generation. Created by the very ones living in it. Utopia for those who own the spotlights but a less than perfect system to others.
